Biosafety cabinets are ventilated enclosures that use HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filters to filter out all the pathogenic biological agents and microorganisms from the workspace environment and disseminate unpolluted air to the environment. The Class II Biological Safety Cabinet, also known as BSC, is specialized to provide environmental, product, and personnel protection.
The Class II Biosafety Cabinet is a new generation of safety cabinets which are easily installable in a laboratory, without any loss of working space.

Class II Biosafety Cabinet Features

Class II cabinets are used in hospitals, clinics, and research and pharmaceutical laboratories that work with pathogenic biological agents (PBA) and microorganisms. Thus, it is vital for the cabinet to meet requirements for the protection of the environment, product and personnel attained via the following:

1. Air inflow through front access opening that creates an air curtain protecting the work chamber from any access of contaminants into the work chamber or any escape of hazardous aerosols out of it;
2. HEPA filtered unidirectional vertical downflow ensuring sterile work environment in the work zone;
3. HEPA filtered air outflow exhausted to the room.

• Complete access to the front chamber of the Class II Microbiological Cabinets is attained through the front window. This window is easy to clean and allows large materials and accessories to enter the chamber.
• For maximizing the light entering the chamber, transparent glass is used to make the side windows. This improves the visibility and provides a good sense of space to the operator.
• By providing personnel, product, and environmental protection, these cabinets ensure maximum control over the work processes and manipulations. They eliminate any exposure of personnel to airborne biological microorganisms which can be of potential danger. The size of a lab needs to be considered before buying the Class 2 Cabinet.
